Assistant Principal

I was born in Houston and received my childhood education in Houston ISD. I attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned a business degree. I worked in the business field for a while and then joined the education field starting off in private school. I then earned my education degree through the ACP program and St. Thomas University. I taught 3rd Grade Math at Calvert Elementary for eight years and then earned my administrative degree through the University of Houston. I have been an Assistant Principal for 15 years at Worsham Elementary, Jones Elementary and Oleson Elementary Schools. I am now happy to be a Jag at Jones EC/PK/K School. Besides spending time with my three grandchildren, I love listening to Christian music. Photography is my hobby and passion. I served as a foster parent for 19 years. I love crafts and party planning. Most of all, I love Jesus.

Mr. Jessie

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.  I am a graduate of Dillard University where I worked for 4 years before relocating to Houston due to Hurricane Katrina.  Since that time I have earned a Master's in Education from Sam Houston State University. I’ve worked as a Math teacher, a Skills Specialist and now as an Assistant Principal since 2012. " It has been a pleasure for me to serve in the aforementioned roles at the following schools; Eckert Intermediate, Calvert Elementary, Rayford Intermediate and now at AW Jones Pk/K.  I live and lead by a simple philosophy; You are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution."

I am elated to serve you as one of the assistant principals here at Jones ECPKK this year. I am also looking forward to a rewarding 2019-2020 school year of watching our students learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

This is my eleventh year in education and first year as an assistant principal. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. I attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Oh where I received both my bachelor's and master's degrees in education. I taught special education for 5 years and moved to Houston in 2013 to teach in a neighboring district as a general education teacher for 3 years. Then I transitioned to the position of Instructional Math Coach working with PK-5 grade teachers for an additional 3 years.

I love to travel locally and internationally during my free time. My family consists of an eleven year old Cocker Spaniel named Bentley who is spoiled rotten.

I believe this year will be an excellent year with your support in having your children in school everyday and encouraging them to make positive behavior choices.  These two supports alone will enable students to soar in their educational day with a mindset of being ready to learn everyday in every way.

Together we are building tomorrow's future, one student at a time.
